Joint Developments

Aiming at a durable uptake of the project results, the eBIZ consortium welcomes and thanks the involvement of interested parties, particularly, in the following 5 areas of cooperation:

The eBusiness Community – on-going

There are currently three ways to get involved in the activities of eBIZ:

1) Organisations (private or public) can join the eBIZ Interest Group to participate in dissemination activities, investigate needs of possible follow-up actions, and boost the uptake of the eBIZ results, namely harmonised eBusiness

2) Organisations and/or Professionals can register in the eBIZ Architecture part of the website to receive newsletters and further information on eBIZ

3) Professionals can join the eBIZ group on Linked In to follow in almost real-time, news and discussions among peers on harmonised eBusiness and other eBIZ results

The eBusiness Analysis – completed

Is a Europe-wide report analysing the level of eBusiness adoption in the whole supply chain in the textile/clothing and footwear.

A final version document was released to the public in summer 2008 and is available in the ‘downloads’ section of this website under: Analysis_report_on_eBusiness_adoption in the EU

The Reference Architecture – completed

A reference architecture to define eBusiness communication was set up in July 2008 and has been periodically revised based on: existing eBusiness initatives, Pilots lessons learned, other stakeholders’ contributions.

Five versions were released during the eBIZ development phase, the final version was released in December 2009 and is available from the ‘downloads’ section of this website.

The Project Pilots – completed

A number of Pilots has been set up and run to demonstrate the validity of the reference architecture, including interoperability of different eBusiness systems and related benefits.

Pilots were run through two phases, the first (July-October 2008) involved identified organisations, the second (2009) was open for applications and preparatory activities started in the second half of 2008.

A Call for Expression of Interest was launched in July 2008 and, interested parties have tested the Reference Architecture by participating in the pilot second phase.

Dissemination of results – on-going

Between 2008 and 2010 a number of activities at national and European have been planned to:

- inform on the eBIZ progress and the European Commission eBusiness activities

- share project results

- involve additional stakeholders

Activities include meetings, workshops and large scale events. Interested parties are welcome to be involved according to their scope of interest in the eBIZ project.
