The official yearly event of the Enterprise Europe Network is expected to convey 800 professionals from all over Europe and European officials and which surely represent an opportunity for results dissemination and promotion for eBIZ. The initiative is presented in second day session ‘ICT Business Innovation enabled by New Technologies ‘ which elaborate on how ICT can help SMEs become global business partners, by expanding their activities, cutting costs and opening up new markets.

During the 3 days exhibition a range of presentations was  held, including eBIZ - a tool to be competitive for EU suppliers vs.  Far East, about the eBIZ results. TMTE, member of  the eBIZ Interest Group and organiser of the dissemination of eBIZ in Hungary wanted to use this opportunity  for reaching  both Hungarian  TCF  companies and  IT  providers,  intersted in progress of e-communication in the TCF industry.

Third eBIZ national event taking place in Portugal

On 22^nd June another eBIZ national event took place in one the European TCF (Textile, Clothing and Footwear) major district, in Vila Nova de Famalicão close to Porto, Portugal. The event presented the concrete benefits of eBIZ and eBusiness to local companies with contributions provided by other enterprises which have already tested the eBIZ results.

The eBIZ initiative was launched by the European Commission to harmonise e-Business in the TCF sectors and to boost the uptake of such technologies for the European Fashion Industry. The event, part of the eBIZ dissemination campaign for 2010, was organised by EURATEX, the European T/A Confederation, and also eBIZ project coordinator, and  CITEVE, the National centre for research and innovation in the T/A sectors, which hosted the event in its large facility. The participants learned about the project results and in particular about the tools developed to support the sectors’ SMEs to adopt eBusiness as e single electronic language. Contributions were provided by members of the project team, by local partners (Inesc Porot, and Oficina de Soluções) and included experiences from local companies (e.g. Dielmar) which were involved in the project testing phase through the eBIZ pilots, finally the local branch organisation of GS1 elaborated on the benefits of the use of Standards across the sectors’ supply chains.

Sessão de Divulgação eBIZ-TCF em Portugal

No passado dia 22 de Junho realizou-se mais um evento EBIZ Nacional, desta vez em Portugal, nomeadamente no CITEVE, em Vila Nova de Famalicão, – uma das zonas do país  com maior concentração de Empresas TVC (Têxtil Vestuário e Calçado). O evento apresentou os benefícios concretos do EBIZ e do e-Business aos agentes empresariais locais, com testemunhos de empresas que já testaram os resultados EBIZ.

A iniciativa EBIZ foi lançada pela Comissão Europeia no sentido de uma maior harmonização ao nível do e-Business nos sectores TVC, procurando simultaneamente incentivar e induzir a adopção destas tecnologias por parte da Indústria de Moda Europeia. O evento, parte integrante da campanha de divulgação EBIZ para 2010, foi organizado pela EURATEX, a Confederação Europeia de Associações Têxteis (coordenador do projecto) e o CITEVE – Centro Tecnológico das Indústrias Têxtil e do Vestuário, que acolheu este evento, nas suas instalações em V. N. De Famalicão. Aos participantes foram apresentados os resultados do projecto e em particular as ferramentas desenvolvidas para apoiar as PME destes sectores no sentido de facilitar a adopção de estratégias de e-Business, como linguagem electrónica única.

O painel de oradores foi composto pelos membros da equipa do projecto, pelos parceiros locais (INESC Porto e Oficina de Soluções) e integrou ainda testemunhos de empresas locais e da GS1 Portugal.

Organised by EURATEX (the European T/A Confederation, also eBIZ project coordinator) and INESOP (Spanish footwear technology institute and partner in the project) the event was open by a very distinguished panel of speakers which represented all the relevant Spanish national and regional associations of sectors involved namely: the Textile and Clothing (CIE – ATEVAL) , Footwear (FICE) and ICT (ESTIC). Speakers of the opening panel focused among other aspects on the positive impact of eBIZ and similar innovation projects for the local industry, particularly during harsh economic conditions.

During the half a day event, a combination of technical presentations and insights of the eBIZ experiences of fashion companies or ICT providers was delivered. Speakers highlighted a number of benefits resulting from the adoption of harmonised e-Business in, paying attentions to similar previous experiences undertaken in Spain. In their closing remarks both the two organisers express great satisfaction for the work done with the local fashion community and offered references for all concerned parties to become involved in future eBIZ initiatives.

eBIZ National Event Taking Place in Hungary

Thanks to the cooperation between EURATEX (the European T/A Confederation, also eBIZ project coordinator) and TMTE (Hungarian national association for Textile and clothing industry) the tour of the eBIZ national events progressed in Budapest on 24^th June where presentations were provided for some 50 registered companies, including producers, retailers, ICT providers and experts for standardisation (GS1).

The eBIZ initiative was launched by the European Commission to harmonise e-Business in the TCF sectors and to boost the uptake of such technologies for the European Fashion Industry. In line with the standard eBIZ events programme, a combination of technical presentations and insights of the eBIZ experiences of fashion companies was provided. The active final debate highlighted a number or points of high relevance for SMEs including: the costs of adoption of e-Business in general and under the eBIZ Reference Architecture (lower costs of developing digital data exchange), the support of e-Business communications to extend business networks, improving efficiency through fast, precise and flexible co-operation enabled by eBIZ,   and specificities of the fashion SMEs in the local market. Drawing conclusions after the debate, Mr. Pataki (Industrialist and chairman of TMTE) and other industrialists highlighted the very concrete impact for fashion companies of the eBIZ project and reaffirmed the association’s interest to actively support its member companies towards the adoption of e-Business technologies with the help of eBIZ; such a move was reported as critical to improve the national industry competitiveness in the global, cross-borders, market. As a member of the eBIZ Interest Group, TMTE will follow the implementation of eBIZ and will inform the interested SME’s about the experiences continuously.

eBIZ nemzeti rendezvény Magyarországon

Az eBIZ nemzeti rendezvények sorozata az EURATEX (Európai Textil- és Ruházati Szövetség és egyben eBIZ kooridnátor) és a TMTE (Textilipari Műszaki Tudományos Egyesület)  együttműködésével szervezett programmal folytatódott Budapesten, az eBIZ projekt  június 24-én rendezett bemutatójával, melyen 50  cég (termelők és kereskedők) vett részt. Mint szakmai  érintettek, a magyar eBIZ napon részvettek  szofverszolgáltatók és a szabványosítás szakértői is (GS1).

Az eBIZ az EU kezdeményzésére indult projekt, melynek célja a textil-, ruházati- és cipőipar e-Business folyamatainak harmonizációja és ezáltal az európai divatiparban az internet technológiák használatának erősítése. Az eBIZ programoknál  szokásos módon  került sor a műszaki prezentációk és a  gyakorlatban szerzett tapasztalok bemutatójának kombinációjára.  Az aktív  hozzászólások jól mutatták a téma jelentőségét a kis és középvállalatok szemszögéből: az e-Business adaptáció költségei általában, illetve az eBIZ Reference Architecture egységes keretrendszere alapján eszközölt fejlesztés esetén (alacsonyabb fejlesztési költségek mellett megvalósítható  digitális információcsere), az üzleti kapcsolatrendszer bővítésének támogatása az e-Business kommunkáció révén, a hatékonyság javításának igénye, amit az e-kommunikáció segítségével végzett gyors, pontos, rugalmas munka eredményezhet. Felmerültek még a divatipari kisvállakozások helyi speciális szempontjai is.

Az elhangozottak összefoglalójaként   Dr. Pataki Pál (ipari szakember, a TMTE elnöke) és más szakértők is hangsúlyozták az eBIZ projekt pozitív hatásait a  divatipar vállalkozásai számára és jelezték, hogy  szakmai szervezetük  aktívan támogatni fogja tagvállalataik törekvését az eBIZ-hez való csatlakozásban; ez az elmozdulás kritikus az iparág versenyképességét illetően mind a hazai, mind a külföldi, globális piacokon. Az eBIZ Érdekeltek Csoportjának tagjaként a TMTE folymatosan követni fogja a projekt megvalósulásának folyamatát és az érdeklődőknek információt nyújt tapasztalatokról.

The tour of the eBIZ national events progressed in Modena on Monday 7th June where the second Italian event was hosted by the local Industry association, Confindustria. The eBIZ initiative was launched by the European Commission to harmonise e-Business and boost the uptake of such technologies for the European Fashion Industry. The Modena event was organised by EURATEX (project coordinator) in cooperation with SMI (Italian Textile and Clothing Association) and the local partners of the project to provide local industries with direct experiences from some of the companies involved in testing eBIZ as European e-Business standard. Speakers companies such as Luca Maglierie, Objtec and the brand Belstaff have pointed out the benefits enabled by full use of e-Business across their companies supply-chains, both domestic (inside Italy) and abroad. Benefits were particularly highlighted for costs and time savings, better service to clients and time-to-market. The speeches addressed both the supply-chain’ upstream and downstream part, the later was passionately discussed at the event, also with regards of the future potential developments for the eBIZ Reference Architecture. Further contributions from ENEA, other eBIZ team members and INDICOD-ECR (Italian member of GS1) provided technical insights as well as a broader vision of the eBIZ impact and of the role played by agreed standard across the whole fashion supply chain.

The eBIZ Modena event also featured presentations originally planned for the envisaged Verona meeting and closed the project public appointments in Italy ahead of the summer break. Seconda tappa italiana degli eventi nazionali eBIZ

Si è tenuto a Modena Lunedi 7 Giugno presso la sala conferenze di Confindustria il secondo degli eventi nazionali organizzati da eBIZ, l’iniziativa lanciata dalla Commissione Europea per incentivare la diffusione dell’e-Business ed armonizzarne le procedure per l’industria Europea della Moda. Organizzato dal consorzio eBIZ coordinato da EURATEX in collaborazione con SMI (Sistema Moda Italia) e partners locali del progetto eBIZ, l’evento è servito a condividere con le diverse aziende presenti, alcune esperienze di imprese coinvolte nella sperimentazione di eBIZ come standard per l’e-Business europeo. I relatori di aziende quali Luca Maglierie, Objiec ed il marchio Belstaff, hanno evidenziato alcuni benefici sostanziali resi possibili dall’uso esteso dell’e-Business lungo la propria filiera, sia in Italia e all’estero, ed in particolare sono stati evidenziati i vantaggi in termini di risparmi di risorse, servizi al cliente e risposta rapida al mercato. L’esperienze condivise riguardavano sia lo scambio elettronico di dati nella parte upstream della filiera (produttore – fornitori) sia in quella downstream (Produttore – retailers) nell’ambito della quale alcuni vivaci commenti hanno anche evidenziato opportunità di sviluppo a breve e medio termine dell’Architettura di Riferimento eBIZ. Informazioni tecniche insieme ad una visione piu ampia dell’impatto di eBIZ e del ruolo di uno standard condiviso lungo la filiera sono stati forniti dal team di progetto ed altre organizzazioni tra cui ENEA e INDICOD-ECR, l’organizzazione italiana membro di GS1.

Il programma dell’evento tenutosi a Modena ha incluso contributi previsti per quello dell’evento di Verona e rappresenta l’ultimo appuntamento in Italia prima della pausa estiva.
